Top Ten Blogs for High School Students Considering College

As a high school student, you may be wondering where to even begin when it comes to choosing where to go to school and what to major in. Maybe you are even wondering if college is the best Next Step for you. There is so much to decide and so many factors to consider! I understand how challenging this process can be and want to make it clear that you are not alone. If you are feeling anxious and overwhelmed, welcome to the club! Hopefully we can work together to alleviate that stress and clarify your academic and career interests and goals. This week's blog will be a "Top Ten" list featuring what I consider to be the "Top Ten" Blogs focusing on college decisions for high school students, rated out of 5 stars... This blog combines the insights of five different college and career counselors. The blog discusses college and career choices for students after graduation from high school or college. More specifically for high school students, this blog reviews college admission and college survival advice. 5 out of 5 stars!
2. Harvard Student Blog (4 out 5 stars!)
This is the official blog for Harvard college students. While this blog may initially seem very specific to Harvard students, I chose to include this blog because Harvard is still in many ways America's most renowned, flagship University and the issues discussed by the students here may be relevant to any aspiring college student. 4 out of 5 stars!
3. Best College Fit (5 out of 5 stars!)
This blog helps students find the college that best fits their needs. I like the student centered approach and feel high school students may gain ample useful general information about the college decision process from this college planning blog. 5 out of 5 stars!
4. Every College Girl (4 out 5 stars!)
While this blog may primarily target women, it is a valuable resource that focuses on the issues of school, health, safety, and academic studies that are unique to high school and college students. Regardless of your gender identity, I encourage you to check it out. 4 out of 5 stars!
5. Broke Millennial (4 out of 5 stars!)
This blog helps high school and college graduates organize their financial life. This may be useful for high school students planning how to attend something as financially burdensome as college. As not every student has parents to pay their bills, this blog may suggest some innovate ideas to financially plan for your future. 4 out of 5 stars!

This blog focuses on involving your parents in the college decision making process. Some students may struggle with encouraging parents to get involved in the college process, while other students may struggle with parents who are seemingly going overboard with involvement in the college selection process. College confidential is one of the most expansive and well-known college selection blogs that provides advice for high school students and their parents when it comes to the college decision process. This is a very useful general information blog for students and family members who may have a variety of questions about the college admission process, college survival, and how to choose a major and navigate their first year of higher education. 5 out of 5 stars!
